Hi Jessica,
Thanks for the great suggestions! I'm a big Hulu fan and raved about it in my post Top 10 Websites for Frugal, Free Entertainment. My husband is the TV junkie in our house. We just canceled cable and got DirecTV. We did save quite a bit of money each month and I must say I do love the DVR aspect. But, your way is much wiser! We're taking TV baby steps in the right direction. :-) Thanks for your great contributions. Lisa

How about ditching the Tivo and cable or satellite bill! We don't have cable, so we get about 4 channels with our antenna, but we rarely turn on the TV anyway. We have DSL, so we watch TV shows online. A bonus with this is that you can watch your shows whenever it is convenient for you--like after the kids are in bed. You can also pause it if kids are interrupting you--like coming downstairs 3 times! I guess this is also true of Tivo, but we don't have to pay for it! :-)

Go to the website of your favorite show's channel (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc). Most of them have shows available to watch online for free. The one channel I would watch all the time if I had cable is HGTV. But I recently found that a LOT of cable shows are posted on Hulu, so I can get my HGTV fix for free!
