My name is Lisa, and I once was a high-powered advertising executive. After 20 years of fast-paced fervor, I took the great, big leap and left it for lake-living in a small town. I said good-bye to my 6-figure income, stock-options, and benefits package, and embraced living on less and creating a rich life … rich in quality, time for loved ones and the pursuit of long sought after passions and dreams.

When I resigned after 14 years at a great national ad agency, my heart almost stopped at the thought of what I had just done. Fear. Uncertainty. Doubt. Our income is now 25% of what it once was. GASP! Did I make a huge mistake?

Then, as I began to settle into my new life, I realized how many things I could give up without ever missing them. Frivolous spending. I’m fortunate that I’m married to a very penny-wise, practical man who can find more ways to save money than ever imagined.

Sharing my journey and helping others to find a balanced, rich life is what led to this site. Living Frugal Tips is not about living cheap … it’s about living smart. It’s about making smart choices that improve the quality of your life. It’s about simplifying life, finding balance, and making it more about the experiences and the adventures in life … and less about the stuff.

In addition to the spiritual and emotional benefits, it’s also about discerning between wants and needs, saving money and making smart investments that provide for a solid financial future.
